Welcome to the Research Center for International Economics (RCIE) at the
University
of International Business and Economics (UIBE), which was established by the university
in 2008 to promote research and interactions among economists.

The Center is proud to have Professor WONG Kar-yiu to be its Director.
Professor Wong recently was awarded the prestigious Chang Jiang (Cheung Kong) Visiting Scholarship from the Ministry of
Education of China. Click here for the structure of

 The
Center has close relation and cooperation with the
Research Center
for International Economics at the
University of Washington. The Center
is currently working with the Department of Economics, Hong Kong Baptist
University to organize an annual workshop series and to publish
Analytical Reports on the Chinese economic policies.
The Center
will also seek collaborative projects with other research centers and
universities to promote academic exchanges and research.

The Second Annual conference of the Center was
successfully held at the
University of International Business and Economics on June 12-13,

The Center has completed an annual report on the Progress of
Economic Integration in Asia for the
Boao Forum for Asia, which will be held in
Boao, Hainan, China on April 9-11, 2010. The report was co-edited
by Guijun Lin and Kar-yiu Wong, and
was written by more than
twenty economists in many countries.

The Center established a research group focusing on economic integration. It
had its first meeting on December 20, 2009, right after the third
trade workshop on December 19, 2009. Please

Center organized its first annual conference in Beijing on June
22-23, 2009. Its theme is "China and the World Economy:
Economic Integration and Regional Development".

The Center had the second trade workshop held on the campus of Hong
Kong Baptist University on February 28, 2009. Sixteen papers were
presented, with participants coming from Hong Kong, Mainland China,
Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Australia. For the program,

 The Center
had its first trade workshop on November 22, 2008 in Beijing. It is
